Product Overview

"Just Another Race Horse" tells the story of Sonny, one of thousands of Thoroughbreds, who are born each year for the sole purpose of becoming race horses.

Sonny's story is written from his own perspective on his life and is based on true events. It will give the reader some insight into the less glamorous side of horse racing: the life and training of the average race horse out of the public's view.

Born to win his owners money, Just Another Race Horse follows Sonny's journey through the world of thoroughbred racing.

You'll cry, as Sonny talks about his experiences with the dark side of horse racing - where being drugged, overworked, and exploited is considered normal for many horses. You'll cheer as he experiences his rescue at the hands of a compassionate horse person.

Do you love horses? Want to enjoy his second chance at life? You've got to read Sonny's story.

This book is dedicated to David Jones and part of the proceeds will be donated to DJEMF, The Davy Jones Equine Memorial Fund, which his daughters created to keep the 14 horses he left behind together, safe, healthy and happy!

About the Author

Marion N. Seidel was born in Dusseldorf, Germany, where she became an apprentice jockey in 1976 and was introduced to the sports of horse racing for the first time. She moved to the U.S. in 1992 and worked as exercise rider in Florida while learning her way around the differences between the European and American way of the racing industry. While working in a different line of business to earn her income, she did acquire her thoroughbred trainer's license, but does not work active in horse racing anymore, although she still works with thoroughbreds.
