Product Overview

Riding for Gold is the story of 12 year old Oofa Sinclair, his brother Mike and their parents.

They have sold their farm at Yering, much to the dismay of the boys, and are about to leave for the Mt Alexander goldfields where Mr Sinclair hopes to make his fortune.

This exciting tale gives us a vivd picture of Victoria during the days of the turbulent 1850's; Kirk's Horse Bazaar, the shops of Melbourne Town, and the evils of sly-grogging and bushranging, and the excitement of finding gold.

Young readers with a taste for adventure and history will find it absorbing.
