Fosta, Marathon Master - True Horse Stories
InformationTrue Story of an Australian Horse called Fosta.
Life was confusing for the newborn foal, but that didnt bother him for long. Born early to an inexperienced dam, he was "abducted" by a second pregnany mare, then fostered by a third "mother" whose foal had died.Grieving or not, she nourished and nutured little Fosta when his own mother would not accept him back. Steady and loving, Kintamani Fosta took his difficult start and much more in stride.
Bred for endurance, with fine Arabian blood in his veins, Fosta overcame many obstacles, including his small size. Not only did he make his mark in the Shahzada - Australia's supreme test of horse-and-rider teams - he claimed it as his own by achieving what no other horse, before or since, has done. Fosta's record still stands as an astounding tribute to his dedication, determination, and very special brand of courage.
