Equitainment's Comments

Pit Pony is a great series, in way teaches children a little history of coal mines and the way of life - working conditions and the use of child labour and pit ponies and the changes that are made in this small town such as modern inventions like electricity for one.

I find myself thinking on the lines of the warmth of Little House of the Prairie series, and Wille one of the main characters in this series and his horse Sable get up to all sorts of things.

Jody said there is a TV movie made pre this series that she is trying to get a hold of, that would help to explain a few little things.

The scenery sometimes beautiful or stark and the underground scenes make you really FEEL the atmosphere of the coal mines. I so look forward to the second series becoming available to purchase.
