I got a really pleasant surprise when I watched this movie. I didn't know anything about the book or the movie, except that I assumed from the title and from the cover shot, it would be a bit girly and slow. Thankfully that wasn't the case at all. Matt Damon does a great job as the young horse breaker setting out on a voyage of discovery and finding a lot more than he bargained for.

It's set just after WWII but it's one of those movies that could have been in anytime, as there is little reference to modern living. It's a beauty for the boys and a great romance for the girls, so ignore the title and the cover and give it a try.
