The Melbourne Cup Carnival is now in full-swing, being beamed live right around the world. Polanski, the $4,000 purchase, has just won the Derby at Flemington with a mighty run, bringing tears to my eyes yet again. As horse lovers, we all dream about the long-shot stories. So along with Shamus, the maiden, emergency acceptor who won the Cox Plate last weekend, it's sure to be a memorible race week.In celebration of one of the biggest racing carnivals in the world, I've decided to have an all-racing sale. There are some really great specials, with everything listed being either cost-price or lower.
The sale will run for the week of the Carnival, and then all the prices will return to normal.

Black Caviar seems to be living on and on in all our minds and hearts. Just like so many people I speak to, she really has been adopted into the families of the entire country. Now that she has been offically retired, Nelly's official biographer, Gerard Whateley, has re-released his best selling book, this time in a larger, coffee-table type format and with three new chapters.
RAC: Black Caviar Illustrated (Updated Version) - HB
DON'T FORGET THE OFFICIAL BLACK CAVIAR DVD IS AVAILABLE NOW TOO It's a two disk set, the first her life story and the second containing everyone on of her historical 25 race wins.
I wonder how long it will be before we see a movie of her life story? I'm tipping as soon as her first foal is born, production will get underway. Sports Bet has already released a book on who will play the main parts. That's very courageous of them when a movie hasn't even been announced :-)

There are also a heap of new book released around Melbourne Cup time. I've listed some of them here, but keep checking back to the website as I'll put them straight on as soon as I receive them.
The Melbourne Cup is 152 years old, but the changes in the race over the past 20 years have been the most significant in its history. No longer is it "the race that stops a nation", now it's the race that captivates the world.
They Hit The Line is a celebration of the champions of horse racing, those that grab the headlines and our hearts.
Join brothers Barry and Alan Wood as they once again explore the wonderful world history of horse racing. Includes the great thoroughbreds, the colourful personalities and the champions who defied the laws of nature to run and win.
