HAPPY NEW YEAR - 2012 BEST SELLERS
31 Dec 2012 In This Newsletter2012 TOP FIVE DVD'S2012 is nearly over and we will wake tomorrow to a bright new year. I thought you might be interested in knowing what were the most popular items for 2012. I was a little surprised when I added up the totals and I'm sure you will be too.NO 1 BEST SELLING DVD - HEARTLAND TV SERIESThis one was no great surprise. Once you watch the first series in this brilliant series from Canada, you are sure to be hooked. Lot's of people are asking when series 5 will be arriving. I will chase it up first thing in the New Year, but I except it will be around March 2013. I will do an enormous news bulletin as soon as I know for sure.Heartland Complete Season 1 Heartland Season 2 Part 1 Heartland Season 2 Part 2 Heartland Season 3 Part 1 Heartland Season 3 Part 2 Heartland Season 4 Part 1 Heartland Season 4 Part 2 NO 2 - BUCK: THE BUCK BRANNAMAN STORYPeople seem unable to get enough of this amazing man and for good reason. His quiet, gentle way with horses and his life philosophies should be an inspiration to us all. Shortlisted for the 2012 Academy Awards, this documentary is one not to be missed.Buck: The Buck Brannaman Story NO 3 - SEVEN CLINICS WITH BUCK BRANAMANRealistically, this one is probably higher up in the rankings than it appears here. It was only released in early October, so the numbers only reflect three months of sales. This one absolutely exploded and I've heard nothing but good reports about it. As it's been so difficult to keep up with stock, I still haven't managed to watch it yet. As fast as the stock arrives, out it goes again.Seven Clinics With Buck Brannaman. NO 4 - FLICKA 3: BEST FRIENDSThe latest release in the popular Flicka franchise was, I think, the best one yet. Flicka, now broken in and finding herself with yet another new family, is now being trained to compete in Three Day Eventing. Yes it's corny, but who cares! Not me, that's for sure. Great family viewing and there are more Flicka movies on the way.Flicka 3: Best Friends NO 5 - BLUE FIRE LADYThis one took me by surprise when I totalled up the figures. It was made in the 1970's and one I'm sure a lot of Mum's remember very fondly. It was around the time that Mark Holden (the grumpy judge on Australian Idol) was at the peak of his popularity, just having been crowned "King of Pop". It's a great feel-good movie ... an oldie but a goodie!Blue Fire Lady 2013 PREDICTION: THE GREENING OF WHITNEY BROWNThis movie was only released in early December, but really blitzed the sales for Christmas. It's a lovely family movie and you just can't fail to fall in love with Bob, the stunning Gypsy Vanner. He's so clever too ... I'm sure he would give Skippy a run for his money. This movie is safe to play for all Australian dvd players, and is a must have for every horse lover. The Greening of Whitney Brown 2012 TOP FIVE BOOKSI've grouped the book series together as one product. Like all good series, once you get hooked you have to go on with the next volumes. I'm always sad when I have to say goodbye to new friends I've met in a book, so I'm a big fan of series.NO 1 - THE DIAMOND SPIRIT SERIES BY KAREN WOODThis is a terrific series for teenagers, and one that a lot of mum's enjoy as well. Set in rural Australia, Karen really does bring home the reality of keeping and competing with horses in Australia, along with the plight of our Australian Brumbies. I'm not sure if there will be more books in the series or not, but I will let you know the moment I have more news.Book 1 - Diamond Spirit Book 2 - Moonstone Promise Book 3 - Opal Dreaming Book 4 - Golden Stranger Book 5 - Brumby Mountain NO 2 - BILL THE BASTARD by ROLAND PERRYNo surprises in this book being so high up on the list. We Australians can't get enough of all things that are Australian Lighthorse, so when this book was released, it stormed out the door. The true story of a magnificent Aussie warhorse who only let one man ride him, Major Michael Shanahan.Bill the Bastard by Roland Perry NO 3 - THE FARAWAY HORSES by BUCK BRANNAMANThis is the book that was released in conjunction with the Buck documentary. It's the story of his life together with his thoughts on horses, people and training. A really great read! The Faraway Horses by Buck Brannaman NO 4 - THE A CIRCUIT SERIES by GEORGINA BLOOMBERG AND CATHERINE HAPKAI have really enjoyed the first two books in this series and can't wait for the third. Set in the world of a professional showjumping stable in the USA, Georgina really brings home the reality of competitive riding. The real life daughter of the New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg (remember him being on TV non-stop during the 7-11 bombings) Georgina is a professional showjumping rider herself, and an avid supporter of riders who are less fortunate than herself.Book 1 - The A Circuit Book 2 - My Favourite Mistake Book 3 - Off Course - DUE EARLY JANUARY 2013 No 5 - ME & PHAR LAP: THE REMARKABLE LIFE OF TOMMY WOODCOCK by JAN WOSITZKYHere is another one that took me by surprise. This book was first published in the 1990's but was recently updated and re-released. It's the definitive book on the life of Tommy Woodcock and his life both with the might Phar Lap and ever after.Me and Phar Lap: The Rembarkable Life of Tommy Woodcock
