This fabulous movie now has an Australian DVD release date, which isn't really too far away.

I've noticed it's been given an M rating in Australia (it's PG-13 in the USA) but if your younger children are pretty tough, then I think it should be ok for them the watch. It's no where near as gorey as Speilburgs' other war efforts like "Saving Private Ryan" or "The Pacific", but there are some sad horse moments.

The filming is stunning and although it didn't end up winning any Acadamey Awards, it was at least nominated which is a very big thing for a horse movie. It certainly is a must have for your collection and sure to become a horsy classic in years to come. I can't wait until the stage show opens here in Australia. I'm sure it will be spectacular.

The box set has a lot of bonus features on it, so it will probably be worth getting if you're a film collector.

This new release movie has really taken me by surprise ... I didn't even know it was being made!

All of the Flicka movies (including the original 1943 version starring Roddy McDowell) continually remain amongst my very best sellers and I'm sure this one won't be any different.

I don't have a lot of information about this next installment in the franchise yet, but I did find a behind the scenes look on You Tube to whet your appetite. It has a budget of 10 million dollars which is fairly generous for a horse movie, so I'm hoping for great things from this latest movie.

It appears to have a cinema release date in the USA as October, so it seems we will be getting the DVD here in Australia before the movie has been released at all in America. HURRAY, finally we come first!

Now, if we could only get Heartland Season 4 .....
