THE CUP MOVIE RELEASE
it's a been a long wait but finally THE CUP is due for release in October just in time for the Spring Racing Carnival. The cinema release does appear to be quite limited however so I would suggest you start looking fordates and sessions in your state now or you might blink and it will be gone.
The movie is based on the true story of Damien Olivers' truimphant win on Media Puzzle in the 2002 Melbourne Cup, just days after the untimely death of his brother in a racing accident (which was the same way his father died too).
It's been directed, produced and co-written by an icon of Australian cinema Simon Wincer. The list of movies he has worked on is enormous and includes heaps of horsey movies such as Phar Lap, The Man From Snowy River, The Young Black Stallion, The Lighthorsemen, Flash, Bluegrass and many more.

I'm really looking forward to seeing it and will definitely have my tissues with me. What a proud Aussie moment in sport that one was!

CHAMPION JOCKEY RACING GAME
Just to prove that the distributors really are trying to send me crackers, the new game Champion Jockey is now back on the market.
It was listed at the distributors as being available, so I sent you all an email to let you know, but then out of the blue, it was pulled from sale. Now just to confuse the blazes out of all of us, it seems to be back again.

I'm re-sending the info again and will be able to ship all the orders by the middle of next week.The games are getting harder and harder to find as a couple of the big distributors have gone under in the last twelve months leaving a big gap in the market. There hasn't been anything new in horsy games for ages, but this one looks like it might have been worth the wait.
Two earlier games, G1 Jockey and Gallop Racer have now been merged once and for all into one game, bringing easier control functionS and smart new graphics.
It will be availabe in two formats XBox 360 and Nintendo Wii, and will be brilliant for getting you in the zone for the upcoming Spring Racing Carnival. I can imagine it also being lots of fun in two player mode at your next Melbourne Cup party too, so make sure you get your copy nice and early.

There is a new and note-worthy coffee-table book available, ideal for both collectors and as a Christmas present.
Italian portrait photographer Fabio Petroni has collected a series of stunning photographic images, in a unique style inspired by paintings by Rembrandt together with her life long love of horses.I know there are tons of horse portrait books available, but this one is special and one I thought I would personnally like to recommend. The range of equine subjects is very varied, from ponies, performance horses and foals, each presenting the most amazing character and photographic technique.
It's nearly time to start thinking about Christmas pressies and this one would make a lovely choice for someone special.

I can't wait to see it. I'm asking Santa for Gold Class tickets for my Chrissy present. I hope I've been good enough all year!
