The Life Story of "Secritariat" is Due for Release
A new movie on the life of one of America's most famous racehorses Secretariat, is due for release in cinemas in October 2010. (Australian cinema release date not yet confirmed.)
Released by Disney and starring Diane Lane and John Malkovich, the film chronicles the spectacular journey of the 1973 Triple Crown winner and internationally renown racing legend, Secretariat.
Housewife and mother Penny Chenery agrees to take over her ailing father’s Virginia-based Meadow Stables, despite her lack of horse-racing knowledge.
Against all odds Chenery, with the help of veteran trainer Lucien Laurin, manages to navigate the male-dominated business, ultimately fostering the first Triple Crown winner in 25 years and what may be the greatest racehorse of all time.
Let's hope it's as good as the last Seabiscuit production. It's about time some decent money was put into the making of quality horse movies.
