Australian Publisher Seeking Passionate Stories
'Axion Publishing' is an independant Australian publisher with over 30 years experience. Having recently published 'Clydesdale and Working Horses - a Pictorial History' we are now seeking further stories from those whose lives have been touched by these dedicated and honest horses.
Many older Australians worked these horses on a daily basis in a range of industries and circumstances. While yarns may have been told amongst friends, in most cases, they have not been recorded for others to share and enjoy. WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU! You may be the child or grandchild who has loved listening to stories of a time gone by and wish to record these for posterity, as a tribute to a loved one.
We also want to hear from today's owners who still appreciate these commanding creatures, not for their working capacity but for their shear beauty. Those who are passionate about keeping bloodlines alive, and preserving the traditions of our ancestors for future generations.
We have a high regard for the close relationship between man and horse. Knowing many who would say, "if only that horse could talk, he could tell a story or two". These are the dedications to a humble friend we would appreciate in storyline. Your memorable moment may have been one to make you laugh or cry. Stories between 1500 and 2500 words are ideal and we are happy to accept more than one story.
As a token of our appreciation all published stories will recieve an Axiom limited edition 2010 Heavy Horse calendar.
THOSE INTERESTED SHOUD SUBMIT IN WRITTEN FORM THEIR STORY TO: Axiom Publishing 2/1 Union Street Stepney SA 5069
Heartland Series 1 on TV
The Heartland books have proven to be so popular over such a large audience range, it has been made into a TV series in Canada, home of author Lauren Brooke. Now in it's third series, it's only just hit the TV here in Australia (ABC2, 6.30 Saturday nights in Sydney region). I have only seen the first few shows but so far have really enjoyed it, so has Teresa.
In keeping with the TV show, the Heartland books are currently being re-released with new covers, showing the different actors on them. The new books will sell for $14.95, so it's worth getting the older style now while you can at $11.95. Also if you are lucky you might be able to find some pre-loved Heartland books in Young Adults in the Used section but they do sell quick.
