TRAILBLAZERS
Jody rang me and said "I have just read this great book, I couldn't put it down, did you know of the First Australian Equestrian Olympic team?"
I said "no, never really heard of them. Why? "
"You have just GOT to read this book, I read it in one night and it's so good", Jody went on to tell me a bit about the book and of course her excitement rubbed off and I ended up reading Trailblazers.
I really dont know where to start to tell you about this book, do I go on and on about the true meaning of the Aussie Spirit in this team; of being down to earth guys that said hey we'll give it a go; of the training; leaving home to spend a year away from families in England; of literally jumping in the deep end in qualifying; and the horses, to the ones that helped them reach their achievements.
I thank Wyatt "Bunty" Thompson for this amazing insight into our First International and Olympic team, I am in awe of what you and your fellow team mates achieved and the chance of reliving through your eyes this unforgetable experience. Teresa xox
Brand-spanking NEW BOOKS....
NEW - In the next few weeks there are many new books being added to Equitainment Website, even total New series of books in Adult Fiction and Children's Fiction books.
In the Lastest Additions you will find the very new book in the Wild Horse Phantom Series by Terri Farley called Fire Maiden. Book 3 in the Unicorn School series by Linda Chapman. Lauren Brooks's latest in the Chestnut Hill Series called Chasing Dreams and also the third book in the Pony Club Secrets called Destiny and the Wild Horse by author Stacy Gregg.
Absolutley beautiful coffe-table style books, some are already up in the Latest Additions List on the front of the website. Jody has searched high and low for these and I have had a sneak peak at most of them and drool, drool. You wont know which ones to pick, let me tell you, I am having a hard time not buying them all.
Pre-loved USED BOOKS...
USED & COLLECTABLE - There are heaps of books added to the list of Used and Collectables in the last week and lots more will be added in the next few weeks.
Some of these books only last a day before they are sold. Many of these books do not go up in the Latest Additions list on the front of the website as they take up too much room. So go to Browse and click on Used and Collectable books, be it Adult, Children or Magazines. Make yourself a cuppa and enjoy browsing, there are lots to chose from.
Prices will differ from time to time depending on their condition and how old they are and how rare, or just that we have been very lucky getting them at such a good price, so why should you miss out on getting a good bargin or two.
You asked for more Australian Audio CDs
Here they are - Henry Lawson CDs (my favourite the Loaded Dog story) to Banjo Paterson's Comic Verse, and Great Droving Stories, to the one pictured here.
You will find some in the Lastest Additions, or go and check them ALL out in Audio Books under the BROWSE section and Click on CDs and then into Adult.
Changing a Light Bulb....
How Many Horses Does It Take To Change A Light Bulb?
Thoroughbred: Who ME?? Do WHAT? I'm scared of light bulbs! I'm outta here!
Arabian: I changed it an hour ago. C'mon you guys - catch up!
Quarter Horse: Put all the bulbs in a pen and tell me which one you want.
Standardbred: Oh for Pete's Sake, give me the darn bulb and let's be done with it.
Shetland: Give it to me. I'll kill it and we won't have to worry about it anymore.
Friesian: I would, but I can't see where I'm going from behind all this mane.
Belgian: Put the Shetland on my back, maybe he can reach it then.
Warmblood: Is the 2nd Level Instruction Packet in English? Doesn't anyone realize that I was sold for $75K as a yearling, but only because my hocks are bad, otherwise I would be worth $100K? I am NOT changing lightbulbs. Make the TB get back here and do it.
Morgan: Me! Me! Me! Pleeease let me! I wanna do it! I'm gonna do it! I know how, really I do! Just watch! I'll rewire the barn after, too.
Appaloosa: Ya'll are a bunch of losers. We don't need to change the lightbulb, I ain't scared of the dark. And someone make that darn Morgan stop jumping up and down before I double barrel him.
Haflinger: That thing I ate was a lightbulb?
Mustang: Lightbulb? Let's go on a trail ride, instead. And camp. Out in the open like REAL horses.
Lipizzaner: Hah, amateurs. I will change the lightbulb. Not only that, but I will do it while standing on my hind legs and balancing it on my nose, after which I will perform seven flying lead changes in a row and a capriole. Can you do that? Huh? Huh? Didn't think so.
Miniature: I bet you think I can't do it just cause I'm small. You know what that is? It's sizeism!
Akhal Teke: I will only change it if it's my owner's lightbulb and no one else has ever touched it.
Andalusian: I will delegate the changing of the lightbulb to my personal groom after he finishes shampooing my mane and cleaning my saddle, but only on the condition that it is changed for a soft blue or pink bulb, which reflects better off my coat while I exhibit my astonishing gaits.
Cleveland Bay: I'm busy. Make the whipper-in and the hounds do it.
Saddlebred: My ears are up already, please, please get the lightbulb away from me! I'm ready to show, really, I promise I'll win!
Paint: Put all the lightbulbs in a pen, tell me which one you want, and my owner will bet you twenty bucks I can get it before the quarter horse.
POA: I'm not changing it. I'm the one who kicked the old one and broke it in the first place, remember? Now, excuse me, I have a grain room to break into.
Grade Horse: Guys? Um, guys? I hope you don't mind, but I went ahead and changed it while you were all arguing.
Does anyone know who wrote this? Would love to know.
