Welcome to Equtainment
If you're a horse lover like me and spend hours dreaming of all the amazing adventures you can share with your horsey buddies, then this is the place for you.
EQUITAINMENT is the place for complete equestrian escapism. Travel to a land of mystic magics, win the Grand National or Kentucky Derby, solve a spine-chilling murder, win an Olympic Gold Medal or just go for a gentle ride with your best friend. Its all here at EQUITAINMENT.
The website is constantly being updated, but I can't guarentee what you order will always be in stock. If you see something that you've been searching for... GRAB IT WHILE YOU SEE IT. Most of the DVD distributors and publishers have one print run of a book or movie, and then once it runs out, they don't re-stock it again. That is especially true of the DVDs', and some of them become very hard-to-find so please order them for your collection straight away, and then you won't be disappointed.
I ran a few adds in Horse Deals and have been busy over Christmas, so I am apologising for not getting a Newsletter out before this. You will receive a monthly email newsletter which will have news, latest releases, specials and so on, that I hope you enjoy.
Please dont be shy on phoning to discuss any product you're not sure about.....I am only too happy to talk to you and make a suggestion. Plus its always easier talking to someone who is as passionate about the stories as what you are yourself. I quite freely admit I clutch my hanky all the way through heaps of the movies (and some of the books), so am happy to share my own favourites with you.
The Equitainment Website is updated nearly every day with New Releases and New Stock, its well worth adding this site to your Favourties List and pop in every so often to have a look. You can even drop me an email and let me know if your looking for a title, and I'll see if I can help you out.
Regards Jody xxx
PS... New Releases, Hot of the Press, even before seen in shops is the latest two books of the Chestnut Hill Series called " Scheme Team" and "All or Nothing".
Feature Book: Gypsy Horses and the Traveler's Way
The Road to Appleby Fair by John S. Hockensmith
John S. Hockensmith's incredible images and descriptions of his remarkable journeys to Appleby Fair with the British Romani provide a rare and insightful look at a mysterious and often persecuted culture and the horses that they treasure.
On the first weekend of each June, Gypsies traveling for days and dozen of miles in ornate wagons pulled by colourful cobs converge on the township of Appleby in northern England just as they have for over three centuries to buy and sell horses. www.equitainment.com.au
Feature DVD: Dreamer
“Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story” tells the story of a father who, for the love of his daughter, sacrifices almost everything to save the life of an injured racehorse and bring the promising filly back to her former glory.
Ben Crane is the most talented horseman in the industry but his career ends the day prize horse, Sonya, breaks her leg. She is considered as good as dead by her owner, Ben's boss, so along with his walking papers, Ben is given Sonya as severance pay.
A bleak future awaits both Ben and his maimed horse...that is until his daughter, Cale, askes the impossible of her father: to rescue and rehabilitate Sonya so she can race again.
This is an uplifting and heartwarming story inspired by a true story of a little girl's dream, a father's undying love and the miracle that saved them both. www.equitainment.com.au
Equitainment "Goss"
Have you seen the New Flicka movie yet? Kind of based on Mary O'Hara's book called My Friend Flicka of which I have in stock.
The story goes that Katie (Alison Lohman) claims a wild horse as her own to prove to her father ( Tim McGraw - great Country singer) that she is capable of one day taking over the family ranch.
If you do go and see the movie you might like to keep in mind some bloopers for instance one of the first times Katy mounts Flicka to ride her around, Flicka isn't wearing some gear. Then suddenly gear is visible, or near the end of the movie, after Flicka has been attacked, there are no visible patches of hair missing or scars from the mountain lion. Earlier in the movie when Katy finds Flicka, there are patches of hair missing where Flicka later gets attacked.
As soon as it is released on DVD for us horse movie buffs, I will let you know.
COMING SOON...
REGION 1 DVDs HURRAY, YIPEE AND MUCH CHEERING...
I've just opened an account with a huge distributor in the USA which means we will shortly have access to about a billion more DVD titles!
OK...so I'm exaggerating a little, but they have HEAPS of movies on their lists that aren't available here in Australia, so you'll have to forgive me for being excited. Previously unobtainable classics like National Velvet (my all-time favourite), International Velvet, Running Free, A Horse For Danny and many, many more will be arriving soon and I can't wait, but you will need an ALL REGION DVD PLAYER as they will be made for regions other than Australia. Please check before you order (or get too exctited).

Just a Horse!
From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a horse", or "that's a lot of money for just a horse".
They don't understand the distance travelled, the time spent, or the costs involved for "just a horse". some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a horse".
Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a horse". but I did not once feel slighted. Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a horse", and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a horse" gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day.
If you too, think it's "just a horse", then you will probably understand phrases like "just a friend", "just a sunrise", or "just a promise". "Just a horse" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust and pure unbridled joy. "Just a horse" brings out compassion and patience that make me a better person.
Because of "just a horse" I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future. So for me and folks like me, its not "just a horse" but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.
"Just a horse" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day. I hope that someday they can understand that it's not "just a horse" but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just a woman".
So the next time you hear the phrase "just a horse" just smile, because they "just" don't understand.
